Our members are invited to the first Frontiers Day of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) which will take place on Monday 5 October 2026, from 14:00 to 20:00 at Tramsschapp in Luxembourg city.
The event aims to bring together students, researchers, industry representatives, and public leaders to foster collaboration, showcase innovation and engage stakeholders. This will be a unique opportunity to highlight success stories with current partners and find new potential partners. It will be moderated by Lisa Burke.
The theme of this first edition is “AI and Science: when research meets industry and society”. How can researchers and industry partners co‑create knowledge that is both cutting‑edge and socially meaningful? How do we ensure that AI‑driven science remains open, responsible, and aligned with human values? And how can Luxembourg position itself as a leader in this new era of intelligent innovation?
Three presentations in the field of engineering will be of particular interest to your members:
- AI capacity assessment and planning
Using AI and mathematical modelling, real-estate professionals will be able to quickly assess what can legally and physically be built on a parcel of land. - AI-assisted design of steel structures
Developing European guidelines for the application of machine learning in the design of steel members and buildings. - Data-driven methods for bridge maintenance
By using the latest sensing technologies, AI and civil engineering advanced modelling tools, learn more how to detect damage early on old bridges.
